Duties and Objectives

Textiles are a global trade product. The customer can not fully comprehend all the steps in the production chain and must trust that the goods are delivered in perfect condition. To ensure this, the testing methods used worldwide must be common, reproducible and unambiguous.

DEK e.V. offers the knowledge of its members through congresses, symposia and practical training courses.

DEK e.V. acts at national level with the DIN Deutsches Institut für Normung e.V., in the Standards Committee NA 062-05-11-AA (Farbechtheit von Textilien - Colour Fastness of Textiles). Internationally DEK e.V. collaborates closely with similar national bodies, e.g. SDC (Society of  Dyers and Colourists/GB), AATCC (American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists/USA) as well as ISO (International Organization for Standardisation) in TC38/SC1.

DEK e.V. is a non profit organisation. The offices of DEK are at the same place as the management.
